Things to do

Obviously the main event is our wedding on the Tuesday 🙂 But there are plenty of things to keep you busy in and around the lake or further afield if you’re wanting to explore.

As well as being active there are also plenty of lovely restaurants and bars in Malcesine if you’re wanting a more relaxing trip away. If you want any pointers on where to go, let us know and we can suggest a few places.

Below are a few possibilities of activities for you.

Tandem Paragliding

We saw a lot of people doing this on our last visit and it looked great. Seeing Malcesine and the lake from a different perspective from 130€. Here is a link to the site offering this: http://www.tandemparagliding.eu/en/.

Cable car up Monte Baldo

Don’t fancy jumping off a Monte Baldo, but still want to see the amazing views from up high? You can go up in the cable car to the top of Monte Baldo (2,218m). Prices start from around 20€ to go right to the top. See the website here for more info and some pics of the views: http://www.funiviedelbaldo.it/en/.

Castello Scaligero

You may not have much time for exploring the castle when we actually get married, so why not have some time looking around it before or after the day. Again the views from the castle itself are great and it’s worth going right to the top of the tower to make the most of those views and it costs 6€ to go in.

Windsurfing, Kitesurfing, Kayaking, Mountain Biking and more

There are plenty of sports to do on Lake Garda and also mountain bike hire. There are a few places that offer hire for these; below are a couple for you:

Europa Surf + Sailhttp://www.europasurfandsail.com/
Wwwind Square Malcesinehttp://www.wwwind.com/

Limone sul Garda

A short boat trip across the lake from Malcesine, Limone is well worth a visit: http://www.limoneitaly.com/.

Sirmione & Bardolino

South of Malcesine you can find Sirmione (http://www.limoneitaly.com/) and Bardolino (http://www.bardolinoitaly.com/).

Further afield

As well as there been many beautiful places to visit and activities to take part in on and around the lake, there are plenty of places not too much further afield that may interest you. These include visiting the stunning Dolomites mountain range (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1237), Verona where Romeo and Juliet was set and Venice which…well it’s Venice.

These places are all within a couple of hours drive from Malcesine and there are also tour operators which can take you on day trips to those places.
